Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) implemented the Express Entry program in January 2015 to select skilled immigrants to become permanent residents of Canada.
Express Entry encompasses three immigration programs:
- the Federal Skilled Worker Program
- the Federal Skilled Trades Program
- the Canadian Experience Class
How do I become part of Express Entry?
Creating an online profile starts the process. Then, candidates are placed in a pool until they receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from IRCC. After receiving an ITA, you have 60 days to complete the rest of your online profile and upload necessary documents. IRCC’s current service standard means that you can obtain permanent residence within about 6 months of submitting your profile.
Why use a licensed Canadian immigration professional for Express Entry?
It may sound simple, but to create your profile to increase your chances to receive an ITA means your must be careful to input data correctly, honestly and supported by documentary evidence. Our firm can help you from the beginning to ensure you are able to meet the 60-day deadline when you receive your ITA by anticipating issues that can come up after selection. Or, maybe you have already received your ITA and cannot figure out why the system keeps giving you an error message. Remember, you only have 60 days! One of the most disappointing situations we have encountered is when a new client comes to us after receiving an ITA that was based on erroneous data. Luckily, we’ve been able to help clients decline the ITA, fix the issue and get selected for another ITA without worry that they might have missed their chance.
