The federal Express Entry system manages immigration applications for 3 federal economic immigration programs:

If you are eligible for 1 of the above programs, then you are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by submitting your application to the Express Entry pool.

The Express Entry system will rank your profile based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

The highest scores receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence to the government body of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

These invitations are issued by the federal government on a regular basis.

The Latest Express Entry Immigration Draw of 2021

On February 13, 2021: the latest Express Entry draw was conducted. Canada invited 27,332 applicants to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) for permanent residency.

Applicants required a minimum CRS score of 75. This is the lowest CRS requirement in the history of Express Entry.

Before this, the lowest CRS requirement ever was 199 points for May 16, 2017 Express Entry draw.

The government body of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) implemented the tie-breaking rule to choose applicants with the same CRS score.

Applicants who applied before September 12, 2020 at 15:31 UTC received Invitations to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

The Previous Express Entry Immigration Draws of 2021

On February 10, 2021: the fourth Express Entry immigration draw of 2021 was held. It was the 175th Express Entry draw. A total of 654 invitations were sent to applicants who received provincial nomination in the latest draw.

Applicants required a minimum CRS score of 720 points. Applicants receive 600 additional CRS points when they receive provincial nomination.

On January 21, 2020: the third Express Entry immigration draw of 2021 was held. It was the 174th in Express Entry draw history. The IRCC invited applicants to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) only.

A total of 4,626 invitations were sent to applicants with a minimum CRS score of at least 454.

Applicants with similar lowest scores are selected based on the time and date of their submitted application.

On January 20,2021: The IRCC invited 374 applicants from the Express Entry aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) streams.

Applicants with a provincial nomination and a minimum CRS score of 141 were invited to apply for permanent residency.

Since it was an Express Entry aligned PNP draw, 600 additional CRS points were granted to applicants who received a provincial nomination.

Therefore, applicants with a minimum 741 CRS points received the ITAs.

On January 7, 2021: It was the 172nd Express Entry draw. This draw was for the applicants to the Canadian Experience Class only.

A total of 4,750 ITAs were sent to applicants with a minimum score of 461 on the CRS.

The increase in the number of ITAs issued is highly influenced by the Canadian Immigration Levels Plan of 2020-2022. The plan set out the target of 400,000 new permanent residents every year.
