The federal Express Entry system manages immigration applications for 3 federal economic immigration programs:

If you are eligible for 1 of the above programs, then you are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by submitting your application to the Express Entry pool.

The Express Entry system will rank your profile based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

The highest scores receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence to the government body of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

These invitations are issued by the federal government on a regular basis.
