What are the Different Quebec Business Immigration Programs?
If you have the intention to reside in Quebec and have enough financial resources, then you may be eligible for 1 of the 3 Quebec business programs.
Quebec Immigrant Investor Program: The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program allows you to immigrate to the province of Quebec as an investor. You do not need French proficiency to be eligible for this program.
You must demonstrate a minimum of net assets worth $2 million and invest $1.2 million as a guaranteed investment for 5 years with the provincial government. You are allowed to receive financial assistance.
Quebec Entrepreneur Program: Under the Quebec Entrepreneur Program, you can immigrate to Quebec if you intend to establish or acquire a business. You can apply under 2 streams based on your circumstances.
Stream 1 is for those who intend to establish a business in the province. They can do that alone or with Canadian citizens or foreign nationals as partners. They must create a business with the support of a business accelerator, incubator, or university entrepreneurship center in Quebec.
Stream 2 is for those who wish to buy an existing business. However, they will be required to own and control 51% of the acquired business.
They must have net assets worth $900,000. They will also be required to submit a minimum guarantee deposit of $200,000, which will be confiscated if they fail to meet the requirements of their permanent residency.
Quebec Self-Employed Worker Program: You can apply for the Quebec Self-Employed Worker Program if you intend to create your own job while you are residing in Quebec as a self-employed person.
You must have a minimum of net assets worth $100,000 to be eligible. You also need to score the minimum number of points on the self-employed assessment grid. A minimum of 2 years of experience in your occupation will also be required.
