Detention Reviews in Canada: How to Proceed

When a person is detained by the CBSA, a detention review must be held to determine if there is a reason under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) to continue detention. Within 48 hours of the detention (or as soon as possible afterwards), the Immigration Division will review the reasons for detention.
