The Canada Business Visa is for an individual coming temporarily to Canada with the purpose of engaging in international business activities without directly entering the Canadian labor market.
A business visitor is someone who comes to Canada to meet clients doing business with their company based outside of Canada. They could be looking for ways to grow their business, invest, or advance their business relationships.
Visitors may come to Canada to observe site visits. Alternatively, a Canadian company may have invited them to Canada for training in product use, sales, or other functions related to a business transaction.
To apply for a Canada Business Visa, you need to confirm your eligibility for a business visa, compile the document file and application forms, submit the Canada Business visa application, wait for processing and respond to additional requests for information, and send your passport for stamping.
As a business visitor, you can qualify for a Canada Business Visa by showing that you plan to stay for less than 6 months, you do not plan to enter the Canadian labour market, your main place of business and source of income is outside of Canada, you have documents to support your application, you meet Canada's basic entry requirements with a valid travel document, you have enough money for your stay and return home, and you are not a criminal or risk to Canadians.
To show you're a Business Visitor, you must prove that you plan to stay less than 6 months, you don't plan to enter the Canadian labour market, your main place of business and source of income is outside of Canada, you have documents that support your application, and you meet Canada's basic entry requirements (like having a valid passport, enough funds to support your stay and departure, a clean criminal record, and plan to leave Canada).
Within the application page, you will also have to submit the required documents for every Canada visa application, a complete travel itinerary, a letter of invitation from the company you are visiting for business meetings or trade shows, registration documents of the company you work for, a letter from your employer stating your job title, salary, and reason for visiting Canada, registration documents from the Canadian company who have invited you, a declaration letter addressed to the Government of Canada, and two photographs that meet the Canada Photo Requirements.
Start-Up Business Class applicants must establish a qualifying business, which, at the time that the commitment is received from the designated organization, must have each applicant holding 10% or more of the voting rights attached to all shares of the corporation outstanding at that time, and the applicants and designated organization must jointly hold more than 50% of the total voting rights attached to all shares of the corporation outstanding at that time.
At the time that the applicants receive their permanent residence, they must provide active and ongoing management of the business from within Canada, have an essential part of the operations of the business take place in Canada, and have the business be incorporated in Canada.
The cost to apply for the Canadian Business Visa is CAD$100 with an additional fee of CAD$85 if you are asked to give your biometric information.
If your visa is approved, then you will have to pay for the passport processing, which costs around CAD$45.
Depending on the workload of the Canadian Embassy you are applying in, you will have to wait from 1 to 6 weeks for the Business Visa to be processed.
Since the Canadian Business Visa is a Temporary Resident Visa, it is not valid for more than 6 months. You are encouraged to stay only for the time that you have stated in your application, even if that is less than 6 months. The Embassy could give you a visa that is valid for a longer period, such as 3, 5 or even 10 years, but you must not stay for more than 6 months at a time.
Since you are applying for a visa to attend a business meeting or a similar reason, you cannot bring your dependents to Canada with a business visa. Dependents, in this case, are your spouse or common-law partner and your minor children.
If they want to accompany you for this trip, they must apply for a Canada Visitor Visa.
If you are planning to visit Canada on business purposes, then you will need an invitation from the Canadian company. Also, you need to provide a letter from the foreign organization which proves that you work full time in the organization. A verification letter is required to prove that you are not visiting Canada on employment purpose.
There is no specific expiration date on a letter of support, but it is highly suggested that as soon as you receive a letter of support, you should begin your visa application process.
The expiry date on any temporary resident visa is the date by which the visa must be used to seek admission into Canada. If the visa is not used on or before that date, it ceases to be valid.
The validity date is NOT the suggested duration of the visit. At the port of entry examination, CBSA officers determine the length of time temporary residents are authorized to stay in Canada.
Typically, when officers are satisfied that the foreign nationals are admissible, entry is granted for a six-month period.
Congratulations on taking your first step towards Permanent Residency in Canada through entrepreneurship and investment!

My Visa Source made the process of my partner’s PR a breeze. We did run into an issue in the beginning as my partner initially started his PR progress with the intent of going through his work to get his PR. There were some difficulties that ended up leading us into doing his PR through common-law sponsorship, which ended up being a blessing in disguise as we were appointed a new Lawyer & team.
Harley Jensen was very much on top of everything from quick replies to our emails and if we ran into any difficulties she would always set up a phone call to ease us through the process. There was another lovely lawyer by the name Natasha who was also helping us through some difficulties.
Overall My Visa Source made us feel confident and at ease during this very stressful process. We would like to thank the team for all their hard work. I would definitely recommend them.

Sharing my experience with MVS. This firm has truly reliable and dependable professionals, no wonder it has won so many awards and accolades. After my initial spouse work permit rejection, I approached MVS and I was assured they’d handle my case sensitively. Bara was very calm and informative, he initiated my process. My wife’s permit case was assigned to Sharon and Marc. ‘Sharon’ is very knowledgeable and precise, she was always reachable and was prompt on her responses during the process. Her follow ups on every step was phenomenal. Such a gem! I blindly recommend her.
Marc on the other hand was the heart of the process, shout out to him as well..
All my stress was washed out as every actions performed by them was promising. I was optimistic and finally received the permits, now I can reunite with my family in coming days.
Couldn’t praise enough. Wish you best to unite and bring happiness to more families like ours.
I wish to personally meet you all one day to thank for what you’ve done. You’ve changed my life.

I've had a very bad experience with an immigration lawyer at another firm in the past, and I was very scare to experience that again. I found My Visa Source online and decided to give them a try because of their great reviews, and I don't regret it for a second!. Amazing experience, they really treated me like a human being and were very upfront and organized with all information.
Angel Pavlou is really an angel, very sweet and helpful, she help us a lot on our first stage of the process with the firm. She is an amazing human being!
Because we were applying through common-in-law sponsorship, my team was Harley and Natasha, an amazing team! We worked for about 4-5 month on the file to make sure everything needed was there. And even though they usually respond within 2-3 business days, by the last portion before submission, our emails were responded by the minute, which we really appreciate as it helped to speed up the process significantly.
Even though our contract with the firm ended with the submission of our application, they left the door open for further questions we may have about what's coming next with our application, which is a big support for us, and we really appreciate (as now we have a long road ahead before a final answer from IRCC comes).
Thanks Team! :)

At first I was a bit wary because we had some challenges with our spousal sponsorship case and all correspondence was done over the phone or email, but now that my husband has been approved, I can say with confidence I would hire My Visa Source again for any immigration needs. My husband was not even asked for an interview in the end. This firm works many different nationalities and passport holders and there experience is vast.

After previously going to another immigration service it became glaringly obvious how great this service was. Angel was able to answer all my questions and share with me some options that I had not been told of by the other lawyer. I highly recommend this service.

This was a free consult call. I received the call exactly at the time arranged. Irfhan was very helpful, honest and informative. Unfortunately there weren’t many options for my case and he made no false promises. His integrity was impeccable and even though there wasn’t much that could be done he did offer some great suggestions and advice.
