COVID-19 Measures for Visitors in Canada Extended Till 2022

The Canadian government recently announced the extension of the Covid-19 related measures introduced to allow international visitors to apply for temporary work permits till February 28, 2022. First introduced on August 24, 2020, this measure allows temporary residents in Canada with a valid Visitor Visa to apply for a closed or employer-specific work permit.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will hold the Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program lottery beginning September 20, 2021. The lottery will nominate 30,000 applicants to the program over 2 weeks. Invited applicants will have 60 days to submit their completed application for permanent residence to the IRCC.
