The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) recently announced the resumption of their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws through its Entrepreneur Stream. The SINP suspended PNP draws through the Entrepreneur Stream back in March 2020 as the pandemic forced the Canadian immigration system to limit operations.

When Was the Entrepreneur Stream Resumed?

The SINP conducted its first draw through the Entrepreneur Stream after a year of suspension on July 12, 2021, to invite 28 applicants to apply for provincial nomination. Applicants required a minimum provincial score of 120 points. The SINP has further scheduled PNP draws through this stream on September 2 and November 4, 2021.

How to Apply for the Entrepreneur Stream (SINP)

The Entrepreneur Stream (SINP) offers an immigration pathway for international entrepreneurs and investors who can meet the following criteria:

  • Have a legally acquired net worth of at least $500,000
  • Have at least 3 years of business ownership or management experience
  • Invest a minimum of $300,000 if the business is located in Regina or Saskatoon
  • Make a minimum investment of $200,000 if the business is located anywhere else in Saskatchewan
  • Own at least 1/3rd of the business establishment
  • Have an active role in managing the day-to-day operations of the business
  • Create at least two or more employment opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • Present a comprehensive Business Establishment Plan

The SINP will evaluate your profile based on the following factors:

  • Your language proficiency
  • If the business is planned for a key economic sector
  • Your ability to make an exploratory visit to Saskatchewan before establishing your business

You will be required to submit your profile through the Expression of Interest (EOI) system. If your profile scores the minimum cut-off points or higher, then you will be invited to apply for the stream. Once your business meets all the terms and conditions decided in your Business Performance Agreement, you will receive the provincial nomination. This will allow you to apply for permanent residence to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
