The government of Manitoba has recently announced a significant increase in the province’s new immigration quota for 2023.

Each year, the Canadian government’s department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) creates a plan to allocate immigration targets for each provincial nominee program. For 2023, Canada has announced that it plans to welcome 105,500 immigrants through all provincial nominee programs. The government of Manitoba made a strong push to raise the target for their province specifically, resulting in a 50% increase in the Manitoba PNP’s immigration allocation from the IRCC.

Manitoba’s quota for its provincial nominee program will be 9,500. This new quota has an addition of 3,175 immigrants who will have the opportunity to immigrate to Manitoba in 2023 via the PNP.

Another new addition to the Manitoba PNP’s immigration process will be the inclusion of more sector-specific draws to invite hopeful immigrants to settle in Manitoba. These new draws will be held in addition to the usual bi-weekly PNP draws.

The Manitoba government has been interested in increasing its immigration quota to meet labour market demands and to help develop its economy. In 2023, the province welcomed almost 21,000 immigrants, and 64% of that group immigrated through the Manitoba PNP. Manitoba hopes to welcome even more immigrants in 2023 and continue to expand the diversity and multiculturalism of the province.

Overall, the new Manitoba PNP quota for 2023 may increase your chances of immigrating to Canada and settling in Manitoba. Manitoba is a province with beautiful natural landscapes of the Canadian prairies and an exciting, diverse capital city of Winnipeg. This province can be a great place to live and work, and they are well-prepared to welcome newcomers.

How Can I Qualify for Canadian Immigration via the Manitoba PNP?

The Manitoba PNP consists of three streams offering unique pathways to immigration and settlement in Manitoba.

The Skilled Workers Stream primarily functions as a program that will help fill labour market demands in Manitoba. These pathways offer newcomers employment opportunities so that they can contribute to Manitoba’s growing economy. The Skilled Workers Stream offers the following pathways:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  • Skilled Workers Overseas

The International Education Stream aims to encourage new graduates and young professionals to settle in Manitoba and take advantage of the business and employment opportunities it has to offer. This immigration stream provides three different pathways to immigration:

  • Career Employment Pathway
  • Graduate Internship Pathway
  • International Student Entrepreneur Pilot

The Manitoba PNP’s Business Investor Stream offers immigration pathways to experienced entrepreneurs and investors looking to contribute to Manitoba by starting a new business. There are two pathways available under this stream for entrepreneurs and farm investors:

  • Entrepreneur Pathway
  • Farm Investor Pathway

Success in one of these pathways will result in you becoming a permanent resident of Canada and a new Manitoban. These new developments of Manitoba’s PNP will address the province’s increasing immigration goals and help newcomers find a welcoming place to live and work in Canada.
