If you are traveling to Canada in Spring 2021, there are certain things that you need to be aware of and be prepared for. You can either drive to Canada or fly to Canada. 6 Checklist Items for When You Are Driving to Canada

If you are planning to cross the Canadian border, you must remember the following things:

  1. Check the travel restrictions imposed by the province or territory you will be traveling to
  2. Have a mandatory 14-day quarantine plan
  3. Present a negative Covid-19 test result
  4. Download the ArriveCan app to upload your quarantine plan
  5. Enter at a Land Border Port of Entry
  6. Have your negative test result, quarantine plan and ArriveCan receipt ready to present to the border official

You will be required to take a Covid-19 test on arrival after which you must travel directly to your listed place for quarantine.

5 Checklist Items for When You Are Flying to Canada

If you are flying to Canada, then you must remember the following things:

  1. Check the travel restrictions imposed by the provincial or territorial government 
  2. Have a negative Covid-19 test result
  3. Book a 3-night hotel stay at one of the hotels approved for quarantine by the government
  4. Register for a Covid-19 test in advance after your arrival
  5. Use the ArriveCan app to upload your mandatory 14-day quarantine plan

You will be required to present your ArriveCan receipt along with your pre-entry test result only to board the plane to Canada. After arriving in Canada, you must again present these documents along with your hotel reservation and quarantine plan.
