You can apply for permanent residency under 5 different immigration programs offered by Newfoundland and Labrador:
Express Entry Skilled Worker: The Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker program is for skilled foreign workers who qualify for one of the Economic Immigration Programs offered by the Federal Express Entry system.
If you receive the provincial nomination, you are more likely to be invited to apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry system.
Skilled Worker Category (NLPNP): The Skilled Worker Category (NLPNP) facilitates immigration for skilled workers who can benefit the economic development of Newfoundland and Labrador by filling in the labor market gaps.
Skilled workers must have a valid job offer or be currently employed with a designated employer based in the province.
International Graduate Category (NLPNP): The International Graduate Category (NLPNP) is for recent international graduates who are either currently employed or have a valid job offer from a designated employer in the province.
You must have graduated from a 2-year study program from an approved institution and have a valid Post Graduate Work Permit at the time of application.
International Entrepreneur Category (NLPNP): The International Entrepreneur Category (NLPNP) facilitates the province's nomination of eligible international entrepreneurs interested in owning and operating a business in the province.
Applicants must make an exploratory visit before applying. Applicants will receive a temporary work permit to establish their business and meet the terms stated in the Business Performance Agreement. Once the terms are met, they can apply for permanent residency.
International Graduate Entrepreneur Category (NLPNP): The International Graduate Entrepreneur Category (NLPNP) is for international graduates from Memorial University or the College of North Atlantic.
International Graduates must have completed a 2-year study program and have a valid Post-Graduate Work Permit.
Graduates must also have at least 1 year of business management and ownership experience and own 33.33% of the established or acquired business.
Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador: The Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador stream is a new immigration pathway under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP). This new initiative is for highly skilled professionals and international graduates with advanced academics and specialized skills to work in one of the priority sectors of the province. Applicants require at least 1 year of work experience in a highly skilled eligible occupation or a Master’s or Ph.D. degree from Memorial University obtained in the last 3 years before applying.
