Canada seems like a perfect destination for immigration for people living in Qatar. Unlike Qatar, Canada has a liberal democratic government that boasts a record of equality, multiculturalism and diversity. There are several reasons why you would want to immigrate from Qatar to Canada such as better job opportunities, international studies or starting a new family.

Maybe you want to experience life abroad and be part of a globally connected and competitive economy. Canada is known for its welcoming immigration policies. With a growing need for skilled professionals in its workforce, Canada is a perfect place for you if you are interested in working here.

Canada also offers the best working environment and is one of the top 10 safest countries in the world. It offers universal healthcare and an excellent education system. It is covered with beautiful landscapes, lush forests, lakes and snowy mountains.

With growing job opportunities and a higher standard of living, Canada makes one of the best places in the world to start and raise a family. In Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2020 to 2022, Canada plans to welcome over 1 million new permanent residents.

Deciding to migrate from your home country is a big step and presents many challenges to take on. Therefore, the first step would be recognizing the purpose of moving and then deciding the best course of action.

How Can You Immigrate To Canada from Qatar as a Student?

Canada is one of the top 10 favorite destinations for higher education in the world. With internationally recognized universities and a thriving economy, Canada offers the best opportunities for international students who wish to grow their careers.

Over 150,000 international students transition to permanent residence annually in Canada. Based on what and where you want to study, you can apply for a study permit to the government body of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

After completing your studies, you can apply for a Post-Graduate Work Permit to start working in Canada. This opens up several immigration pathways for you if you wish to transition to permanent residence. Canadian work experience will help you qualify for the federal economic class programs and several Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

How Can You Immigrate To Canada from Qatar to Work?

Canada has a thriving economy and a growing need for foreign workers to fill the labor market gaps caused by industry expansion, falling birth rates and an aging population.

As a foreign worker, Canada provides you with several immigration pathways based on your skills and experience.

The most popular immigration pathway is the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system manages applications of 3 federal economic immigration programs:

Out of the 13 Canadian provinces and territories, 11 offer their version of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to nominate foreign workers with relevant skills and experience.

If you wish to settle in a specific province or territory, then you can check out the PNP offered by that province or territory to select the best immigration stream based on your eligibility and work experience. Try out our PNP Program Finder tool. PNPs also offer the best immigration pathways for semi and low-skilled workers. However, each of these streams will have its eligibility criteria. You will need to assess your eligibility to determine the best immigration pathway for yourself.

In 2020, over 4,000 foreign nationals received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through these immigration streams every 2 weeks.

You can also apply for various business immigration programs offered at the federal and provincial level if you have significant net worth and capital investment.

How Can You Immigrate To Canada from Qatar through Family Sponsorship?

Immigrants from Qatar can also qualify for the Family Sponsorship if their family member is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Family Class Sponsorship has 3 categories: Spousal Sponsorship, Dependent Child Sponsorship and Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship.

If your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, then they can sponsor you for permanent residence based on where you are currently living. If you are already in Canada living with your sponsor, then they can opt for Inland Spousal Sponsorship. If you are living in Qatar, then they can sponsor you through the Outland Spousal Sponsorship.

As a dependent child, if your parents are permanent residents or Canadian citizens, then they can sponsor you for permanent residence through the Dependent Child sponsorship. However, you will only be considered dependent if you are under the age of 22 and unmarried.

If your children or grandchildren are permanent residents or Canadian citizens, they can sponsor you through the Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship. However, they must agree to support you financially during your stay and meet other eligibility requirements.

What Is the Final Step in the Immigration Process to Come to Canada from Qatar?

The final step in this process will be preparing your immigration application based on the program you chose. However, to immigrate, you will also be required to clear the admissibility requirements.

Inadmissibility defines the reasons why you are not allowed to enter Canada. Inadmissibility reasons range from health risks to criminality.

If you have a medical condition that can pose a health risk to public safety, then you will be deemed medically inadmissible. Recent criminal convictions can also deem you criminally inadmissible. However, you must not conceal crucial information from the authorities, as this can get you charged with misrepresentation.

Misrepresentation is having provided incorrect, inaccurate or inconsistent information to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) or to the IRCC, if you have, you will be deemed inadmissible to Canada. If you are discovered misrepresenting, you could be refused entry to Canada for 5 years.
